Hosting a “Perfumenero” Perfume Party
The following information describes a standard Perfumenero Perfume Party and addresses any questions you may have about hosting.

Contact Information
If any of your contact details change after the party is booked, you must notify Perfumenero of the new information as soon as possible.
Confirmed Booking
The party is confirmed once you receive notification from Perfumenero that your deposit has been received. An email will be sent to you with label design instructions, so you can begin designing your bottle label. You will receive a call one week before your party to confirm directions and your guest count.
Invite Information
You invite your guests to your home or other location on the date/time confirmed. Most hosts email their guests with the information several weeks in advance and typically send a reminder email a few days before the party. Some hosts also send a “Save the Date” note if their party is far in advance.
Party Preparation
Weeknight home parties typically start about 7pm, and weekend parties are scheduled on a case-by-case basis. Although the booking time is the actual start time of the party, you should ask your guests to arrive early. This will ensure that guests can begin creating their fragrance at the party start time, and that Perfumenero has time to prepare the guest's perfumes before the party is over. Please prepare a large table with an oil-proof tablecloth for displaying the fragrance oil samples, and two chairs. The room should have good air circulation, as the perfume creation process is designed so that there is minimal wafting of scents (there is no “spraying”).
Party Size
There is no set limit on the number of people who can attend a Perfume Party. The charges for a standard Perfume Party are based on the number of bottles of perfume you would like to purchase. A standard Perfume Party generally lasts about two hours, depending on the number of guests. Instruct your guests to approach the perfume table in groups small enough to experiment with scents, without crowding.
What We Bring
We bring a wide variety of fragrance oils (approximately 50 for adult parties) and everything required to create your signature perfume. Childrens' perfume parties offer fewer scents to experiment with, as they would likely be confused by having too many options.
Allergies
The fragrance oils used to create your perfume are cosmetic grade, meaning they are suitable for the general population. All of the oils are IFRA compliant, which means they adhere to the safety standards set by the International Fragrance Association (IFRA). As with any cosmetic, someone may have an allergic reaction to its ingredients. To date, no Perfume Party guests have experienced allergic reactions to the fragranced oils. The fragrance oils that customers select are mixed with perfumer's alcohol to create a perfume-strength fragrance. If you or your guests have known allergies to any of the scents in the selection, or are prone to allergic reactions, please take the necessary precautions to minimize the risk of a reaction. The host and Perfumenero are not responsible for any allergic reaction guests may have to the fragrance oils, so the host must ensure that the parents of minor guests are aware of the nature of the party and can take any necessary precautions. The perfume-making process was designed to minimize scent wafting, so there is no spraying during the session.
Party Duration
A standard Perfume Party typically lasts about two hours -- depending on the party size, how early guests arrive, and how long it takes them to choose their oils. Please plan to start the party promptly and at the scheduled time. Ask your invitees to arrive early PRIOR to the scheduled start time of your party.
The Night/Day of the Party
We arrive at least ½-hour before the party is scheduled to begin to set up the fragrance oils for display. As guests arrive, we explain the process of creating a signature perfume and give each guest an order form that guides them through the simple perfume-creation process. After order forms are completed, the Perfumenero perfumer will blend each signature perfume. Guests will take their signature perfumes home that day, with payment from each guest received at the same time, unless the host is paying for the party -- in which case, the host's balance owing is due at the conclusion of the party.
Party Venue/Long Distance Parties
If the party venue is more than 50 miles round-trip from Media, PA, a travel charge of $.75 per additional round-trip mile will be required, plus any toll and parking fees. If the venue is more than 400 miles round-trip from Media, the party host will also pay for all travel-related expenses, including hotel, meals, tolls, and parking (hotel reservations to be made and paid for by the host). If travel by air is required, the host will also pay for the airfare, car rental, ground shipping of fragrance oils ,and professional time (airfare, hotel, fragrance oil shipping and car rental reservations to be made and paid for by the party host).
Deposit
A 50% deposit is required in order to guarantee a standard party. After the deposit is received, Perfumenero will send you instructions on creating your bottle label.
Cancellation Policy
Notification of cancellation must be received and confirmed at least three weeks prior to the booked party date to receive a 100% refund of the deposit. Refunds for cancellations with less than three weeks’ notice will be at 50% or applied to a future party.
Prices
The charge for a standard Perfume Party is based on the number of one-ounce spray bottles of perfume you would like to create. The minimum charge for a standard party is $250, which includes 10 bottles. The charge for each additional one-ounce bottle is $25. If the client requests a larger or smaller bottle for the party, the cost will be adjusted accordingly, but the minimum is still $250. Group discounts are available and will be determined by the number and size of the bottles.
Individual perfume-making sessions can be scheduled at our location in Media PA. The cost will depend on the number of bottes to be made, the design and size of the b0ttle, whether the client wishes to have a custom label, and the length of time the session will last.
Special Orders
If someone at a standard Perfume Party would like to purchase any of the one-ounce perfumes for themselves (i.e., not as part of the host’s general party charge), the charge is $25 per one-ounce bottle.
Payment
Payment is by cash or check and is accepted at the time of purchase or deposit.
Joint-Sales Parties
Perfume Parties are stand-alone events — with no other products sold at the time of the party.
